AKO MISMO Event: DOG TAG Day!

Punta na tayo mga kabataan! Magsama-sama tayo at magkaisang bisig!

Over the next few months, AKO MISMO will be mounting different events nationwide to provide its members an opportunity to do something good to help others. Beyond their personal pledges, members will have a chance to volunteer for socio-civic activities they feel strongly for, and take personal action by contributing their time and talent in the service of others.

JUNE 12 IS DOG TAG DAY

On Independence Day, AKO MISMO will celebrate the event with DOG TAG DAY at the Bonifacio Global City open field. The venue will open by 2pm to allow everyone to enjoy fun and meaningful activities at the concert grounds. From 5-7pm, we will have school bands as well as professional bands performing, and everyone will have a chance to hear about the charities we are supporting. After that, the day’s event will culminate in the concert proper which will run for another 2 hours, featuring some of the country’s hottest bands: Pupil, The Dawn, Bamboo, Kamikaze, Kjwan, and Up DharmaDown. (Keep posted on this website for updates on performing bands).

There will be booths for each of our 11 beneficiary charities where people can check out and purchase specially designed AKO MISMO t-shirts and other merchandise, the proceeds of which will go towards socio-civic activities and the charity they choose to support via their purchases. Visit the booths of Caritas, Dynamic Teen Company, UN Stand Up Against Poverty, World Vision, PLDT Smart Foundation, ERDA Foundation Inc., UP PGH Cancer Institute Foundation, Cutis Laxa Benefit, PNP Badge of Honor Foundation, DDB Cares and Gawad Kalinga Foundation.

There will also be food and beverage available at partner Pepsi and McDonald’s booths, so you won’t go hungry. We will also be making available the sign-up booths for those who wish to register and become a member of AKO MISMO. Photography and video opportunity areas will also be put up, along with activity booths for Henna tattooing, face painting, and the AKO MISMO KISS MO booth, to name a few.

100 SCHOOLS: A DAY’S WORK

Watch out for announcements on this website for the launch of our A DAY’S WORK project. Simultaneous nationwide, 100 participating schools will have their students spend a day engaged in gainful work, in lieu of a typical academic school day. Students will use the day to work in an office, an establishment, or as entrepreneurs selling their wares. Earnings from the honest day’s work will go towards the school charity of choice.

LIFE BEGINS AT 40

We are happy to inform you that Ako Mismo is partnering with youth groups, schools and other like-minded organizations to mount different socio-civic activities in 40 pockets all over the country. Guided by the commitments members posted on the AKO MISMO commitment wall, our socio-civic group is currently identifying the causes most relevant in different areas all over the country. If you are a member of a group and want to participate, make sure to let us know by contacting any of us at susan@akomismo.org, mardi@akomismo.org, and cel@akomismo.org.

Watch out for more exciting details of these activities on AKO MISMO Official Website.

I was there with some friends, it was a great experience! Galing ng mga banda! Sana may kasunod pa! I love the shirts...I bought a couple. :D We had our photos taken at the photowall, nakisali din kami sa video shout out, we even had our faces painted with "Ako Mismo"...2pm pa lang andun na kami hanggang sa matapos yung event! Worth it yung panahon na andun kami we had so much fun. I just hope hindi ito hanggang sa una lang! Sana lahat ng nag-commit gaya ko ay panindigan ang mga commitments.
